With great pleasure we announce the XIX Congress of the European Society for
Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery that will be held in the Astir Palace
Peninsula, Athens, Greece, in September 22-25, 2010. Our meeting will take
place in the Astir Palace Hotel and Convention Centre, a luxurious resort in
the Vouliagmeni area of the Athens Riviera. The resort offers a great choice of
services and facilities to meet the needs of a high-quality scientific meeting in a
location of great natural beauty. The peninsula includes many exclusive beaches
and offers breathtaking vistas and, hence, ample opportunities for leisure and
relaxation. Vouliagmeni is located at a distance of 25 km from the centre of
Athens and has easy access to its cultural heritage monuments (Acropolis,
Museums, Olympic Stadium, Sounio etc.).
The Congress will present the latest information on established and new
technologies, their applications in clinical practice and the future prospects of
emerging technologies. Our aim is to exchange ideas and experiences on the
most recent developments in movement disorders, pain, epilepsy, psychiatric
disease, neurorehabilitation, neuromodulation, eurotransplantation, oncology,
gene therapy, radiosurgery, neuronavigation, neurosurgical methodology,
imaging, and intraoperative monitoring.
We intend to prepare an exciting scientific program with state-of-the art round
tables, debates and lectures by worldwide recognized authorities.
